SS501 name stands for S-superstar, S-singer, 501- five member united as one forever.
This five member all male South Korean singing group was formed in 2003 and as early as 2005, the group already penetrated the Japanese market and still is, one of the favorite K-pop group in Japan.
The group's leader Hyun Joong became so popular that he was cast in the popular series 'Boys Over Flowers' as Yoo Jin Hoo.
